    Recognition of
Prior Learning (RPL)

Turning experience into credentials: RPL bridges the gap between practical know-how and formal qualifications.
    SIM AUC 2024 10 OCTOBER 17 3663

Is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Right for You?

Do you have experience in a role or significant skills but no qualification to back it up? Have you worked in business administration, management, safety, or training roles? Are you wanting to build your career but feel not having qualifications, despite your experience, is holding you back? Recognition of prior learning might be for you.

Recognition of prior learning / Skills Recognition is a process, through assessment of current skill and knowledge, of gaining qualifications in your field of expertise without the need for further study. Through recognition of prior learning , you could earn credit for a few units or a full qualification.

RPL recognises that learning comes from many sources, whether it was from formal training, workplace experience, or general life experience. Your assessor will support you and help you though out the whole process.

You may be able to get a recognition of prior learning for a unit of competency or the whole qualification. In some case, a gap training might be required.
